Gideon's 4th birthday party - oh my!! Complete with slip 'n slide, water-balloon war, and shark pinata. I think it was a hit for all the kiddos, most especially our birthday boy. He got a big-boy bunkbed from us and the grandparents - so not as much toy madness to sort through this year! He thinks it's great - has his own 'office' (built-in desk) and can escape from little sister to the top bunk when needed. What a big kid...okay, okay for once I won't go on about how they're growing up way too fast!! We just adore them so!

Just when I thought she couldn't get prettier!
What can I say, the "MagOnator" is simply getting too beautiful for her boyish nicknames, club-like 'hobbit feet' (thank you Lord for Crocs!), and the rough customer attitude she's inherited from her brother. She's got her Mama's sway-back and a 'line-backer strut' to go with it! What a contrast to her soft curls of hair and the sweetest, most expressive little face. She is talking now, saying things like "whassat?"and declaring "teetee" everytime she wets her diaper, along with a hundred other object-naming words. Oh, how I love my girl. I could just pet her little head of hair all day, if only she would keep still for more than 5 seconds!

The many faces of Mag
How 'bout my girl, so grown up now. And quite animated to boot... endless expressions on that chubby little face. I love that she doesn't need to have much vocabulary to show just exactly what she's thinking. What is that in the 2nd picture..do I see a hint of mischief?? Nonetheless, all wrapped up in pure sweetness!

Smooth Max
Finally a post that doesn't revolve around those dang kids!! I took my Dad as a date to go see Max Stalling (my VERY favorite) back in November. We were about 5 feet from the stage...oh, sweet bliss!! To add to the excitement - ever the adventurous duo, we took the dart (Dallas' rapid transit). It was some wierd holiday & the schedules were different, so we ended up missing the last train. Long story short, we got a nice policeman to take us back to our station where the car was, some 20 miles away. It was pretty funny to be able to say we had gone out honky-tonkin' and the police had to bring us home at 1 in the morning.
Mag's 1st
Here we are in January & I'm finally posting Magdalene's birthday (in November). Ugh...it has been a wild 6 months. You know, raising 2 (what shall I call them?) 'full of life' children!! Not to mention the computer crash we had at the end of the summer, which made me not even want to think the word computer for a good 4-5 months. So.....I'm a little behind. Well , here is one big event to catch up on. My sweet baby girl, one year old. She is a hoot. Walking & saying about 10 words now. She is a much easier child than Gideon, because she is content without constant attention. That being said, she does have him to learn from, so she is finding mischief much earlier than he did. Oh well, you take the good with the bad as a Mama. She already has Daddy wrapped around those tiny fingers; she is becoming his new little buddy now that she is really old enough to keep up with the 'boys'. Still, she and I relish our 'girl time' when the Jake & Gideon are off doing their own thing & giving us a little quiet!! Oh and did I mention....she is SO Pretty.
